7/5/2023 0 Comments The Tenth Girl by Sara FaringThat was the one reason I kept reading was to find out how the story wraps up. But I was interested enough to see how it ends since it is a mystery story. Without the audiobook, I would have easily DNF'd the story. But if you are interested in it, feel free to pick it up but it is going to be a book that I remember for a long time due to the horrible-ness of it. On top of the other issues I have with this book, it was an awful reading experience and definitely a book I do NOT recommend. I absolutely despise that as a way to end a story. Without spoiling the book, it basically followed the trope of "it was all a dream" which is one of the worse ways to end a book (in my opinion). I really wish that the author had not written the book in that fashion at all since it is highly racists and not okay.Īnother major issue I have with this book is the ending. I found this repulsive and unnecessary to the story. The author made Indigenous people the enemy of this story and that they were "savages" and "animalistic". She holds degrees from the University of Pennsylvania in International Studies and from the Wharton School in Business. Morgan, she worked at Penguin Random House. After working in investment banking at J.P. Mainly, the representation of Indigenous people is horrific. Born in Los Angeles, Sara Faring is a multi-lingual Argentine-American fascinated by literary puzzles. Wow this was truly one of the worse books that I have ever read.
